Privacy Policy.

The personal data collected.

When you visit my website or blog, certain data is automatically collected and stored in log files. Almost all web servers throughout the world do this. The data collected can include the date and time you visited the site, your IP address, details about the browser you used, any web page (e.g. Google) that directed you to this site, your language preferences, your operating system, the country you are viewing the site from. If you leave a comment on my blog, your email address is collected, as well.

There is no way I can know the name or address of anyone viewing the site or blog unless that information is specifically given by that person.

Of course, if you register to become a patient, I will need to collect detailed personal information. I will need your permission to do this. Your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation will be explained at that time.

The privacy information on this page applies only to my 'HypnoAcupuncture' website and my blog.

What this data is used for.

My blog collects the email address of anyone who leaves a comment, so that abuse of the system can be controlled. Spammers, troublemakers, etc. can be prevented from further commenting, if their email address is known.

The rest of the data is collected in order to monitor how people use the site and blog and help improve them over time.

The legal basis for processing this data.

If you comment on my blog, you do so voluntarily. You have consented to give your email address and any other details you include.

The other data can be collected because it helps monitor and improve the site and blog. This is a legitimate interest.

Who to contact if you have any concerns.

If you have any worries concerning any personal data being stored, you should contact me (Carolyn Scott) directly and I will do my best to help.

Ultimately, you have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office.

On 25th May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation became enforceable throughout the European Union. This toughens the law on storing and processing personal data. This page describes the very limited collection of personal data that occurs when you visit my website or blog.
